Hansa-Park Invites Visitors to “Herbstzauber am Meer”

Hansa-Park Invites Visitors to “Herbstzauber am Meer”

From 10 to 25 October, HANSA-PARK will once again host its “Herbstzauber am Meer” (Autumn Magic by the Sea) event. A new addition this year is the figure “Martha Jane”, who cheerfully waves to visitors in the park’s Western town.

(eap) From tomorrow, HANSA-PARK in Sierksdorf on Germany’s Baltic Sea coast will once again transform into a sparkling autumn wonderland for the whole family. As part of its seasonal event “Herbstzauber am Meer” (Autumn Magic by the Sea), the theme park will offer visitors a varied programme of atmospheric illuminations, special shows and parades, as well as seasonal culinary delights, as the park season draws to a close.

Across the park’s eleven themed areas, rides and building façades will be illuminated in festive splendour. Countless strings of lights and imaginatively illuminated sculptures will create a magical atmosphere, with more than 2,000 illuminated figures now lighting up the park. For the first time this year, the façades of the “Palacio de Braga” in the “Hanse in Europa” themed area will be adorned with new banners and festive lighting. The “Cornwall Coaster”, which opened earlier this season (see EAP 4/2026), will also become part of the sparkling display.

One of the highlights of the autumn event is the “Lichter-Parade” (Parade of Lights), featuring 22 imaginatively designed floats and more than 60 illuminated princesses and fairy-tale characters making their way through the park. More than one million lights will bring the procession to life. Afterwards, weather permitting, guests can enjoy the evening show “Adrienne und der Regenbogen” (Adrienne and the Rainbow) at the Spanish-themed “Plaza del Mar”. Combining specially composed music, wall mapping and various lighting and laser effects, the production tells the story of Adrienne, whose greatest wish is to see a rainbow at least once in her life. With the help of Hansa-Park’s mascots and the audience, her dream is set to come true. The show culminates in a spectacular fireworks display above the walls of the Plaza del Mar.

Another popular experience is the “Blumenmeerbootsfahrt” (Sea of Flowers Boat Ride), where almost 1,000 illuminated figures – including flowers, butterflies and mushrooms – appear to dance to classical music in three-quarter time. In the Western town of “New Lübeck”, the “Most Charming Harvest Celebration”, introduced last year, creates an autumnal atmosphere with more than 250 smiling pumpkins. Overlooking the scene in front of the “New Chance” saloon is the 5.2-metre-tall Pumpkin Man figure “John Field”. This year, he will be joined by “Martha Jane”, his female counterpart. The lovingly designed figures were supplied by Themics Philippines.

Autumn also takes centre stage when it comes to food and drink: A themed food festival complements the event programme with regional products, seasonal dishes and accompanying beverages available at restaurants and food outlets throughout the park. The menu includes a “Thanksgiving Burger”, speculoos cappuccino and waffles with autumn-inspired toppings.

For more than 25 years, Hansa-Park has demonstrated with its Herbstzauber am Meer event how the autumn season can be made appealing without relying on scare attractions or horror-themed experiences. With its family-oriented event concept, the theme park creates additional incentives for visitors to return towards the end of the season. Meanwhile, attention is already turning to the next season, with the opening of the new “Buddenbrook-Turm” (Buddenbrook Tower) scheduled for 2027. ■
