New Technology Package for Ride Maintenance & Monitoring

(eap) Amusement parks can now maintain their rides even faster, safer, and smarter: The German company DMT (a subsidiary of the TÜV Nord Group) and Danish software developer Mobaro have announced their collaboration, which includes the integration of their respective technologies into a complete solution for the maintenance and monitoring of rides.

While DMT’s “RideGuard” solution is based on IoT sensor technology that analyzes the ride characteristics of, for example, a roller coaster during operation and uses a specially trained AI to evaluate the collected data, Mobaro’s application enables the digitization and complete integration of the areas of safety, maintenance, and operations. By integrating both systems, operators can not only immediately detect deviations from regular ride behavior but also document and manage the corresponding measures directly within the same system – a step toward even greater safety and efficiency. The first user of the new integrated solution is Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Rövershagen, Germany, where both systems have already been in use independently.

“Artificial intelligence already plays a central role in the maintenance of facilities and processes – now AI is conquering the rides in amusement parks. With the combination of AI-supported monitoring and digital maintenance management, we are setting new standards for the safety and availability of rides. With RideGuard, we are leading in AI-based monitoring of rides. Thanks to seamless integration into the Mobaro maintenance management platform, we are significantly improving effectiveness, efficiency, and usability,” explained Dr. Maik Tiedemann, CEO of DMT and of TÜV Nord’s Energy & Resources business unit.

Maximilian Mairinger, Managing Director of Experience & Event at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf, sees great potential for the park: “At Karls, the safety of our guests is our top priority. By integrating DMT RideGuard into Mobaro, we can detect irregularities in real time and respond immediately. This gives our teams the best possible support to operate our rides safely and reliably at all locations.”
