(eap) The Schinkelbad in Osnabrück (Lower Saxony, Germany) is expanding its sauna offering with a new textile sauna in the outdoor area. The sauna is intended to provide space for up to 50 people. As pool manager Jens Eick explains, it has become apparent in recent months that the demand for a larger textile sauna was continuously increasing. Especially during peak times and at popular infusions, visitor numbers were high, which is why many guests wished for more space and comfort. “Therefore, we decided to invest in a new, spacious textile sauna. It is important to us that our guests feel comfortable and notice that we are responding to their needs,” says Eick.

The sauna is to be equipped with large panoramic windows, allowing guests to enjoy an unobstructed view of the greenery. A roughly ten-square-meter anteroom is intended not only to offer guests space to store their bathing items, but also to make it easier for staff to prepare the infusions. In addition, three extra showers are planned in the outdoor area, including a cold-water shower, a shower with individually adjustable temperature, and a “cold bucket”.

“We want to create an offering for everyone with the textile sauna – also for people who, for religious or personal reasons, do not wish to sauna unclothed. This way, we enable even more guests to enjoy a relaxing sauna experience,” emphasizes Eick. The planning office Planteam Ruhr has been commissioned with the construction of the new sauna. Completion is planned – depending on the weather – for spring 2026. ■
