(eap) With the recent opening of its new themed restaurant “Le Terrier” and the confectionary shop “La Confiserie de Niglotte”, the French amusement park Nigloland in Dolancourt has now completed its “La Forêt de Niglo” themed area. The family-friendly zone, located in the park’s “Village Merveilleux” area, is dedicated to the park mascot “Niglo”, a hedgehog, and his friends from the forest. The expansion of the area began in 2020 with the opening of the “Noisette Express” family coaster (cf. EAP 4/2020).
The two new F&B offerings are housed in a newly constructed building. The design concept was developed by the park’s architects and designers and visually ties in with the “Maison de Niglo” – the home of the hedgehog family – and the “L’Envol des Papillons” monorail ride (cf. EAP 4/2024).
“Le Terrier was conceived as a real retreat for families – as a restaurant that is both warm-hearted and highly immersive. By contrast, the adjoining confectionery shop brings in a sweet and colorful touch,” explains Jessy Roig, Concept Designer at the park.

However, it is not only the design but also the food offering at Le Terrier that picks up on the park’s world of characters. The menu includes themed panini variations such as “Pani’Niglo”, “Niglotte” and “Panini Rikko”, which are inspired by the park’s mascots. In order to improve restaurant operations, the park is using touchscreen ordering terminals for the first time. Visitors can place their orders directly at digital stations, which is intended to speed up service and reduce waiting times. “Le Terrier” offers 25 indoor seats as well as spacious outdoor terraces.
The adjoining Confiserie de Niglotte complements the offering with a sweet, colourful boutique. At the same time, the character Niglotte, the female hedgehog, is receiving her own permanent presence in the park for the first time. With “Chochoï”, Nigloland is also introducing a new character to La Forêt de Niglo: The new rabbit chef serves as the host of the area and is intended to underline the family-oriented, sociable atmosphere of the new F&B offering.
Most recently, Nigloland announced “Supersonic 1887”, a new roller coaster for the coming year. The attraction represents the largest investment in Nigloland’s history to date. ■
