Parc Astérix Announces 250 Million Euro Investment Program

"Londinium" is the name of the next new themed area to be created in 2028.

A completely new themed area, a four-star hotel, and the extensive redesign of two existing themed zones … During a press conference last weekend, the largest investment plan in the history of Parc Astérix was presented. A total of 250 million euros is expected to be invested in the theme park, located north of Paris, until 2030, with the aim of significantly driving its growth and strengthen its position among Europe’s top leisure parks. The plan reportedly intends to increase the capacity of the park – which is part of the Compagnie des Alpes group – by 20 percent and to create 900 new jobs.

2026 will see further expansion of the Egyptian-themed area, including the renewal of existing infrastructure. This will involve the redesign of two existing rides and a buffet restaurant. In addition, the first modernization phase of the visitor parking area, including the installation of a photovoltaic roof structure, is planned for the same year. The following year will reportedly bring an expansion of the Greek-themed area. Two new family attractions – a “Coco Dance” carousel by Zamperla and a “Double Family Free Fall Tower” by Zierer – are to be added, complemented by a new playground from Kinderland to enhance the offer for younger visitors. Furthermore, the area’s food & beverage offering will be expanded with a 2,000-square-metre full-service restaurant and two snack outlets.

The four-star establishment dubbed “L’Odyssée”, which will become the park’s fourth hotel, is set to offer 300 rooms, a conference centre, two buffet restaurants, a rooftop bar, and more. In terms of design, the hotel will reportedly take inspiration from an oriental caravanserai and will be divided into four distinct thematic zones.

The highlight of the investment program will be the introduction of the new themed area “Londinium”, scheduled for 2028. This zone will replace the park’s historic “Les Rues de Paris” area and will be largely realized indoors. The anchor attraction of this British-inspired area is to be a Multi Dimension Coaster by Intamin, featuring an 800-metre-long track. Additionally, the new indoor section will include an interactive dark ride by Alterface, a “vertical” playground, as well as new food & beverage outlets and two shops.

According to its own information, Parc Astérix attracted just under three million visitors (2.9 million) in 2025. Don't miss our feature on the park's latest family roller coaster, "Cétautomatix" in our next issue of EAP, which will be published on November 3.■
