PortAventura Shares Details on 2026 New Additions
(eap) The Spanish leisure resort PortAventura World has shared further details and concept images of its upcoming additions. With “Coral Bay, La Leyenda Perdida”, a new family zone is being created at Caribe Aquatic Park, while “Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek” is set to expand the “Polynesia” themed area at PortAventura Park with a new adventure trail.
The more than 6,000-square-metre family area Coral Bay in the resort’s water park is set to offer one world first and one European first, in addition to the five-slide slide tower “The Crab” and the interactive children’s water play area “Splash Port”. According to PortAventura World, “Cyclone” will be the world’s second and Europe’s first Family Water Coaster of its kind. In addition, “Bahía Pirata” will mark the premiere of WhiteWater’s first AquaAdrenaline™ play structure. The new area will be complemented by “El Bucanero”, a dedicated dining venue, as well as relaxation areas that will be integrated into the theming of the pirate bay.
While a new water adventure is taking shape with Coral Bay at Caribe Aquatic Park, a 135-metre-long adventure trail is being developed in the Polynesia-themed area of PortAventura Park. Makamanu Jungle will feature 18 elevated treehouse-style cabins, 20 rope tunnels, three net ladders and four slides, as well as a large four-storey central structure with different levels of adventure tailored to different types of visitors. In addition, the new area will include spaces accessible to people with reduced mobility and a harnessed rope course for guests seeking a more intense experience.
Along the trail, visitors will also be able to discover subtle references to the park’s former Makamanu’s show. These will include visual references inspired by the entertainment production that has been part of the resort’s identity for many years. The area will also feature direct access from “Far West”, connecting the two themed areas of PortAventura Park via a passageway.
The new experiences are scheduled to open this summer. ■
