PortAventura World: "Makamanu Jungle" Welcomes Adventurers

(eap) The Spanish theme park resort PortAventura World opened its newest attraction, “Makamanu Jungle, The Adventure Trek”, today. This is an adventure trail for the whole family that will now complement the “Polynesia” themed area at PortAventura Park. Surrounded by tropical landscaping and inspired by an ancient volcanic quarry hidden deep in the jungle, park guests can look forward to an adventurous experience along a 135-metre-long route.

The trail’s main features include 18 elevated tree-house cabins positioned along the course, 20 rope tunnels, three net ladders, and four slides, all designed to offer a variety of challenges for all age groups. In addition, there is a four-story central structure with various adventure levels tailored to a wide range of visitor groups. A climbing course – which is completed while wearing a safety harness and is aimed at anyone seeking a more intense experience – rounds off the adventure. Furthermore, the new zone also includes a “Refresh Point” where visitors can cool off on hot days. Similar points with water fountains already exist in the “Far West”, “China”, and “Mexico” themed areas.

Just last week, the new family area “Coral Bay, La Leyenda Perdida” opened at PortAventura World’s Caribe Aquatic Park. In addition to the “The Crab” slide tower and the interactive children’s water play area “Splash Port”, it features a European and a world’s first (see EAP News 24 July 26). ■
