PortAventura World Takes over Operation of Further Hotel

(eap) The Catalan leisure destination PortAventura World is to operate the four-star Dorada Palace Hotel in Salou, which is located less than two kilometres from the actual park and resort grounds. The theme park resort is thus expanding its existing range of accommodation options to nine hotels with a total of over 3,000 rooms. Six theme hotels owned and operated by PortAventura are located on the park grounds. In addition, PortAventura has also been operating the four-star Hotel Vila Centric and the Hotel Pirámide Salou for several months now, alongside the Dorada Palace, which is the latest addition to the portfolio. With the expansion of hotel partnerships and taking over operations, Spain’s largest theme park resort is pursuing the goal of reaching the potential customer group of beach and relaxation holidaymakers, who stay several days to weeks in Salou, offering them appropriate accommodation packages including access to the PortAventura parks and facilities. In the coming months, a new brand is to be created for the hotels operated by PortAventura outside the park grounds, which is to be further expanded in the future.

“With this new operation, we are continuing our diversification strategy and complementing our offer. The objective is to provide our guests on the Costa Dorada with the most complete and high-quality entertainment and accommodation offer. In addition, we find great synergies both in hotel operation and in the repositioning of the hotels with our own design and engineering, hotel operation, catering and maintenance teams,” says Fernando Aldecoa, Managing Director Operations & Finance, PortAventura World. The company plans to invest around four million euros in renovation and modernisation measures for the Dorada Palace Hotel. ■
