Princeton Expands Leisure Offering with Modern Outdoor Wave Pool

Princeton Expands Leisure Offering with Modern Outdoor Wave Pool

A wave pool like the one here in Topeka, Kansas, is set to open in Princeton soon.

(eap) In the US city of Princeton (West Virginia), a new aquatic outdoor facility is currently under construction, the central element of which will be a wave pool covering 7,000 square feet (approx. 650 square meters). The facility will be complemented by a splash pad as well as an auxiliary building with showers, changing rooms and food & beverage outlets.

The pool will be a “Twin Tides® Dual Beach Entry Wave Pool” by Aquatic Development Group (ADG). In contrast to conventional wave pools, this model features two opposing entries, allowing bathers to swim through the waves from one side to the other. The capacity of the wave pool is more than 300 people at the same time.

Construction Plan Wave Pool Princeton

“A project like this allows communities to create a destination experience without the footprint of a traditional wave pool,” explained David Keim, ADG’s Director, Public Markets Business Development. “Twin Tides® doubles the wave action and capacity while maintaining a manageable size for municipal parks.”

The regional company Swope Construction is acting as general contractor. In addition to the wave pool, younger visitors can look forward to various spray and play features from Waterplay as well as a themed children’s slide by Rain Drop Products. The total investment amounts to approximately USD five million (around EUR 4.3 million). The opening of the facility is scheduled for early July of this year. ■
