Rheinwelle Opens Modernized Sports and Fun World
(eap) After a seven-month modernization phase, the Rheinwelle in Gau-Algesheim (Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) celebrated the reopening of its pool and water fun world last Saturday. A special highlight are the two new large slides from the Swiss manufacturer Klarer Freizeitanlagen: a “Magic Tube” and a “Turbo Slide”. While both slides feature a time measurement system and lighting effects, the Magic Tube also offers three different effect programs from which guests can choose before starting their slide adventure. Two “Fake Slide” elements are intended to provide surprising and playful moments during the ride.

In addition to the slides, the wave pool was also comprehensively modernized. The previous wave ball was replaced by a “Wave Rocket®” from API Water Fun – designed as a lighthouse that can generate waves up to 1.20 meters high. Alongside the visible attraction upgrades, Rheinwelle primarily invested in the technical infrastructure: including new filtration systems, ventilation and heating systems, as well as optimized water treatment. The renovation of the existing facility is part of a long-term modernization concept that is to be continued in three further construction phases until 2031. In addition, work is currently underway on an extension featuring a competition-standard sports pool with six 25-meter lanes and a 125-square-meter teaching pool. Completion of the new building is scheduled for spring 2027.
