Thomas Meyer, the new owner of Safariland Stukenbrock wildlife and amusement park, thanked his guests for their support. (eap) Following the transfer of ownership of Safariland Stukenbrock to Thomas and Anni Meyer a few weeks ago, an official celebration marking the takeover and further development of the leisure business was held on the park grounds yesterday. The Mayor of the German town of Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, official representatives of the German Showmen’s Association (DSB) and the German Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (VDFU), along with numerous other invited guests, had accepted the Meyer family’s invitation.

“A huge thank you for welcoming us so warmly here in the region. We want to further develop Safariland and take it to another level. You can already see a first step here in this lounge area, where we would like to host summer evenings in future. Next year, among other things, we will add a new water attraction to the offering. Our ambition is great, and I am particularly pleased that not only my wife, but especially our two sons Hansi and Hugo, have embarked on this project with me with such passion and are taking on responsibility,” said Thomas Meyer, who also thanked his guests for their continued support over the past few months.

Bethel Thelen, Vice-President of the German Showmen’s Association. Mayor Olaf Junker also expressed his delight and confidence regarding Meyer’s plans: “When I heard about the plans and visions for the further development of the site, I was immediately enthusiastic. Safariland belongs to Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, and I myself also associate many childhood memories with this park, which is highly significant for our town in terms of the economy, marketing and tourism. Thomas and the entire Meyer family know where they want to go in the long term, and that deserves our best possible support.”

DSB Vice-President Bethel Thelen also congratulated the family on the takeover of the park: “Dear Thomas, you worked for the DSB for many years and played a key role in shaping our association. Likewise, your major rides, such as the water ride, the Ferris wheel and the double-looping coaster, have helped shape the skylines of numerous funfairs. You have always had the determination to move large rides from one location to the next. I now wish you the same determination in shaping Safariland.”

VDFU CEO Jürgen Gevers. “Running an amusement park requires courage, determination and vision. The Meyer family brings all of these qualities to the further development of a long-established business such as Safariland Stukenbrock. I look forward to seeing how Safariland develops in future. As the German amusement park association, we will always be happy to provide support along the way,” said Jürgen Gevers, Managing Director of the VDFU, looking forward to the collaboration.
