(eap) In Willingen, located in the Sauerland region, another Sandbox VR location will begin operations this coming weekend – the eighth in Germany to date. The new facility is part of the newly built Mountain View Hotel, which will also celebrate its official opening from August 1st to 3rd. The virtual reality attraction complements the region’s tourism offers and appeals to the large number of guests and tourists visiting annually.

At Sandbox VR, players can immerse themselves in various VR adventures. They can move freely, equipped with modern sensors, haptic vests and VR headsets. The experiences are specially designed for groups – with up to six people at a time – and range from futuristic sci-fi adventures to pirate or zombie worlds. All games are developed in the company’s own game studio and are exclusively playable at Sandbox VR locations. This autumn, the third release from a collaboration with Netflix is also planned, entitled “Stranger Things: Catalyst,” which is scheduled to coincide with the upcoming fifth season of the popular series.

The target group for the Sandbox VR location at the Mountain View Hotel includes not only families, groups of friends and vacationers, but also companies looking to hold corporate events, conferences and team-building activities – in a symbiosis with the hotel’s seminar rooms. In addition, Next Level Erlebnisse, the operator of Sandbox VR, offers its own training formats under the name “Next Level Seminare.” These are intended to make VR technology tangible and understandable and to explain the technical fundamentals behind it.

With the new location in Willingen, Next Level Erlebnisse continues to expand its Sandbox VR network in Germany. Further locations are already in planning and are expected to open later this year. ■
