Schloss Dankern Opens New Forest Farm Themed Area

(eap) The new “Forsthof” (Forest Farm) themed area was officially inaugurated today at the Schloss Dankern holiday resort in Haren, Lower Saxony, Germany. The opening ceremony was attended by Mayor Markus Honnigfort, members of the press and invited guests, among others.

“It is a pleasure, ladies and gentlemen, to welcome you here today, because what you see here is not simply a new area – it is an invitation into a world full of stories, adventure and pure childhood happiness!” said Christian Freiherr von Landsberg-Velen, Managing Director of the holiday resort, as he welcomed the guests. He went on to explain: “As a family business in the Emsland region, we have a special connection to our region: The new area is intended to introduce children to the history of the Emsland – with themes such as craftsmanship, forestry, moorland culture and peat extraction, and the work associated with them that has shaped generations – and to bring this history to life, while also inviting adults to spend time here.”
Mayor Honnigfort thanked the von Landsberg-Velen family: “You care deeply about this region. For decades, you’ve been doing so much for the people here, especially the children. This new attraction demonstrates that once again very clearly. For that, a heartfelt thank you!”
From now on, the guests can experience the “Treckertour” as the main attraction in the farm-themed area – a Tractor Ride AGV from Swiss manufacturer ABC Rides. As the ride model’s name already indicates, the attraction uses an autonomous ride system controlled by GPS. During the ride, guests are intended to feel as though they are steering their tractor themselves and regulating the speed independently. Obstacles along the way make the ride experience even more interactive and realistic.
Schloss Dankern developed the concept and plans for the Forsthof together with Creative Studio Berlin and SHT Architekten.
