(eap) Just one year after opening “Expedition Odyssey” in May 2025, SeaWorld Orlando has already redesigned its Flying Theater attraction. Under the expanded name “Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice”, the experience will reopen tomorrow initially exclusively for Pass Members. The updated attraction is scheduled to be accessible to all visitors from Monday, 25 May.

The centrepiece of the attraction remains the “Airific” ride system from MACK Rides. New, however, is the film, which, as before, takes guests through Arctic landscapes and habitats – accompanied by wildlife such as beluga whales, sperm whales, seals and polar bears. The production now also shows further natural spectacles and contrasting scenes, including erupting volcanoes that reflect the attraction’s namesake interplay of fire and ice.

“Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice is one of the most ambitious and immersive attractions we have ever created,” said Justin Newton, Senior Vice President of Project Delivery for United Parks & Resorts, SeaWorld’s parent company. “From the moment guests step inside the Arctic research station, every detail has been designed to fully transport them into this frozen world and leave them questioning how it was even possible.”

The entrance and queue area have also been reworked. Guests now begin their mission in a newly designed Arctic research outpost with themed environments, mission control areas and a pre-launch briefing by a “research scientist” preparing them for the upcoming expedition. In this way, the storytelling is intended to take greater prominence even before the ride itself and to draw visitors more deeply into the storyline. ■
