SeaWorld Will Launch New Killer-Whale Show in 2011

According to Orlando Sentinel, SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment plans to launch a new killer-whale show in its three parks in Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio in spring 2011. The new, as-yet-unnamed show will replace the “Believe” show which is in its fifth year. The park didn’t say whether trainers will be back in the water with the animals for the new show. The death of a trainer in February 2010 required to keep all the trainers out of the pools and to renounce any in-water interactions. According to LAtimes, the next season will see the installation of a 300,000-gallon (around 1.1 million liters) aquarium featuring 60 threatened or endangered green and hawksbill sea turtles as well as thousands of tropical fish. A new spinning boat ride will also be part of the expansion. (eap)
