(eap) Just in time for Whitsun this year, the new PEPPA PIG Park in Günzburg, Germany (located in the immediate vicinity of LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort) is set to open its gates for the first time and to welcome visitors to Europe’s first dedicated adventure world centred around the popular pink piglet. The new destination, which is designed for families with children of pre-school age, will feature five rides and a total of seven versatile playgrounds to offer young guests a lot of fun.

As an exclusive new attraction, the park will present the “LEGO DUPLO PEPPA PIG Playzone” – Merlin Entertainments, LEGO and Hasbro recently announced their collaboration to develop such branded play offers centred around Peppa Pig. In this play area (realised in cooperation with Attraction & Entertainment Solutions), children will be able to tell their own Peppa stories with Duplo bricks. Six Peppa Pig scenes lovingly created with Lego Duplo bricks will be on display on two large construction tables. Young builders can expand these colourful worlds with their own creations.

Young guests can also look forward to the “mud puddles” water playground. This play area, realised in collaboration with the Canadian company Vortex, will include bubbling fountains, small water slides and other play elements for a refreshing dip on warm days. Softplay elements will be found in the play areas “George’s Castle” and “Peppa’s Tree House” (equipped by SoftPlay). With “Grandpa Pig’s Sand Playground”, there will also be a classic sand play area for building sandcastles, where children will also be able to search for hidden treasures on a pirate island. Two other play areas will be called “Peppa’s & George’s Wheel Fun” and “Rabbit Luisa’s Playground” with classic bouncing, crawling and other activities. Finally, the family rides will await visitors in the “Off to the funfair”-themed area: “Peppa’s Balloon Ride”, for example, will take visitors on a gentle flight with a marvellous view of the park grounds (Balloon Tower ride type, supplied by Technical Park).

Find out which new attractions European theme parks are planning to surprise their visitors with this year in our Park Report, to be published in the upcoming EAP issue no. 2/2024 (March/April). ■
