Six Flags Entertainment & Peanuts Worldwide Extend License Agreement to 2030
(eap) Six Flags Entertainment Corporation and Peanuts Worldwide have extended their licensing agreement for another five years, making Six Flags the exclusive partner for the use of the Peanuts™ IP in amusement parks in North America until 2030. The collaboration dates back to the early 1980s, when “Camp Snoopy”, the first Peanuts-themed area, opened at the Knott’s Berry Farm amusement park in California.
“We are proud to extend our long-standing partnership with Peanuts, which has delivered so many fun and cherished memories to our guests,” said Christian Dieckmann, Six Flags chief commercial officer. “Both of our brands are built on bringing families together and creating one-of-a-kind experiences and emotional connections. The renewed relationship between Six Flags and Peanuts Worldwide will enable both companies to enhance and extend their brands through themed areas, live entertainment, merchandise and games.”
“It’s been exciting to see how the legacy Cedar Fair parks have introduced our beloved Peanuts characters to new generations of kids over the years, and this renewed partnership with Six Flags will ensure we expand those connections in authentic and meaningful ways,” said Tim Erickson, executive vice president for Peanuts Worldwide.
Since their merger in July 2024, Six Flags and Cedar Fair have been part of the same group and have been operating jointly as the new Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. This summer, after a year of construction, the expansion of the “Camp Snoopy” themed area at Carowinds, which belongs to the operator group, was completed with the addition of two new family attractions. ■
