(eap) The indoor leisure park Space Magic in Aurich (Germany) has been awarded the “Gründerpreis Nordwest 2025” (Northwest Founders Award 2025), taking first place in this year’s competition. With this decision, the jury acknowledged the concept of the indoor park, which opened in spring 2025 and combines analogue activity offers, digital experience worlds, gastronomy and event spaces into a hybrid leisure format (see EAP 2/2025, pp. 90f.). The Gründerpreis Nordwest is regarded as one of the most important competitions for young companies in Lower Saxony and Bremen. Its supporters include regional economic development organizations, banks and municipal partners.

Steve Schröder and Christoph Vogels, the founders of Space Magic, were victorious against over 80 other applicants. During the jury visits in October, the team presented its concept on site and outlined the development work behind the project. The assessment was based, among other things, on the degree of innovation, future viability, economic sustainability and the entrepreneurial personality of the founders.

“This award is a huge moment for us. We have invested a lot – work, courage, sleepless nights. The fact that the jury recognizes our concept with first place makes us incredibly proud,” Schröder emphasizes. “We would like to thank our team, our guests and all partners who have accompanied us on this journey. This award motivates us to further develop Space Magic and to strengthen the region,” Vogels adds. ■
