(eap) Compelling storytelling has long since evolved beyond a purely decorative element in theme and amusement parks, zoos and other leisure facilities. Instead, it forms the narrative thread that strategically connects attractions, shows and environments with design, enabling visitors to immerse themselves in a coherent experience world. Operators deliberately use narrative concepts to evoke emotions, foster identification and strengthen visitor loyalty. To stage attractions and themed environments, many leisure facilities therefore collaborate with specialised partners whose expertise lies in developing design concepts and implementing them with technical precision. At the same time, operators face rising visitor expectations, increasing costs, sustainability requirements and ever more complex project management structures. Theme design companies must also take these factors into account.
Against this backdrop, the French provider Atelier Emocio has also repositioned itself. Since 2025, the company has brought together the expertise of three industry specialists under one umbrella: the design and construction company Atelier Artistique du Béton (AAB), the design and production studio L’Usine à Cinq Pattes (see EAP News 8.10.19), and the marketing agency Agence Emocio. Nicolas Feldkircher (photo), who has led AAB as owner and managing director for the past ten years and is now responsible for the umbrella brand, points to the strategic development: “Taking over AAB was an exciting challenge: preserving the unique expertise of our sculptors and technicians while modernizing our approach to meet the increasing demand for visitor immersion.” He continues: “These ten years are a testament to our team’s resilience and our ability to turn complex architectural visions into tangible realities.”
Looking ahead, the group intends to expand its activities particularly in the fields of sustainability (with regard to materials used), digital manufacturing technologies and international projects. According to the company, this strategic direction responds to changing market conditions that are also becoming increasingly relevant for operators. The company is currently involved in the implementation of the new “Naruto – Konoha Land” theme area at Parc Spirou in Southern France. ■
