(eap) On March 24, the new Stage Entertainment production “Back to the Future – The Musical” celebrated its German premiere at the Stage Operettenhaus in Hamburg. Just a few days after its debut, 100,000 tickets for the musical had already been sold. The stage adaptation of the 40-year-old film classic has captivated both the press and audiences. “We are thrilled about this outstanding start. The high demand and enthusiastic feedback show us that BACK TO THE FUTURE connects with our audience exactly where musical magic happens: in the heart and through the immediate experience,” said Uschi Neuss, Managing Director of Stage Entertainment Germany.

The lavishly designed production has received particular praise for its dynamism, humor, and technical execution, which bring the cult story of Marty McFly and the eccentric scientist Doc Brown to life on stage. The stage version was written by Bob Gale, the American screenwriter and producer who also co-wrote the original 1980s film.

The Back to the Future musical premiered in London in 2021, followed by productions on Broadway in New York City, as well as in Sydney and Tokyo. Additionally, the musical can be seen on the cruise ship “Star of the Seas.” Starting this fall, the show will go on tour in the UK, with further stops planned across Europe. ■
