(eap) The visitor offer at the Harzturm observation tower in Torfhaus, Germany, which opened in 2024, has been expanded with a new attraction: The “High Swing”, which opened last Friday, adds an elevated swinging experience to the 65-metre-high tower.

One ride cycle lasts five minutes. The experience is open to guests aged twelve and above; visitors under the age of 18 require parental or guardian consent. The High Swing was implemented by Vertical Sports GmbH, which markets this type of “extreme sports” experience under the bungee.de brand. According to the company, a mid-five-figure amount was invested in the project.

“For me, the Harzturm is much more than just an observation tower. It is a place where people can experience the Harz Mountains from a special perspective and take memorable moments home with them. That is why we are constantly developing the site further. We planned the swing several months ago, so we are all the more pleased to now make it available to our guests,” says Roman Plate, Managing Director of Harzturm GmbH.

“We do not build off-the-shelf attractions. Our High Swing takes guests to a place where they would never expect to find a swing: high above the treetops, with a direct view of the Brocken. This is not a simulator, but a genuine experience of height, vastness and freedom,” says Andreas Höfer, Managing Director of Vertical Sports GmbH.

Incidentally, another new attraction is currently under construction near the Burgberg in Bad Harzburg. The “WipfelErlebnisWelt”, an adventure playground reaching heights of up to 26 metres, is being built there and is due to open next spring. ■
