(eap) For Tivoli Friheden, the amusement park located in Aarhus, Denmark, a new era has begun: After a quarter of a century under the same ownership structure, the park has now been taken over by a group of local entrepreneurs. The new shareholders – Henrik Rasmussen, Jakob Christensen, Morten Dige Have, and Poul Steffensen, who will also serve as chairman of the new company’s board – announced their intention to continue the park’s successful development while adding their own impulses. Both the management team and staff will remain unaffected by the transition.

The outgoing chairman of the board, Niels Opstrup, who was among the founding members of the previous ownership group, recently handed over his responsibilities to his successor. Park CEO Henrik Ragborg Olesen took the opportunity to thank the departing shareholders Kim Elgaard, Peer Bach, Hans Nissen Hansen, and Karin Selling for their long-standing cooperation. He expressed particular gratitude to Opstrup, describing him as a “steady hand” and mentor who had shaped the company for many years.

With the change of ownership, Tivoli Friheden is looking ahead to the future. Over the past 25 years, the park has succeeded in increasing its annual attendance from approximately 235,000 to nearly 700,000 visitors. In the past season, a Euro-Fighter from Gerstlauer has been added to the park’s attractions offer (see EAP 4/2024). ■
