Toverland Presents New Halloween Experience

(eap) Preparations for this year’s Halloween season are in full swing at the Dutch theme park Toverland. Starting Saturday, 3 October, visitors can look forward to family-friendly “Halloween Days” on a total of 17 dates during the daytime, while 13 evenings will feature spooky “Halloween Nights”. During the Halloween Nights, for which the park recommends a minimum age of twelve, 170 scare actors will take over the park, providing thrills across six Scare Zones and six Haunted Experiences. New this year is the seven-hectare corn maze “Entwined: The Maze”, which Toverland describes as “Europe’s largest Halloween experience”…

Once full of life, the village was gradually reclaimed by nature. Those brave enough to make their way along narrow paths and past dilapidated buildings should beware of the danger lurking in the cornfield. For among the rustling stalks roam those who failed to escape the village – or so the eerie storyline goes.

Separate tickets and the reservation of a time slot are required for the new maze as well as the other Haunted Experiences, while the Scare Zones are included in regular park admission. The Halloween Nights will begin with an impressive parade, after which visitors can, for example, dance at a vampire ball, experience a circus full of crazed clowns, mingle with zombie warriors or wander through a forest inhabited by witches. To make sure that all the frightening creatures can be safely locked away in the vault again at the end of each Halloween evening, Toverland will stage a fireworks show shortly before the park closes.

Visitors can look forward to a completely redesigned Pumpkin Farm featuring thousands of pumpkins and imaginative Halloween creations. The “Magisch Mais Mysterie” corn maze will be packed with fun surprises, while younger children will have their own easy-to-oversee hay bale maze. In addition, witches will work their magic. The park’s restaurants and food outlets will serve special Halloween treats, and visitors will also be able to browse to their hearts’ content in two Halloween shops.

The Halloween Nights will run until 7 November, while the Halloween Days can be experienced until 8 November during this year’s autumn season. ■
