USA: Universal Studios Hollywood Say Hello to Kung Fu Panda & Hello Kitty

As recently announced by Universal Studios Hollywood, the beloved DreamWorks character “Kung Fu Panda” will conquer the Los Angeles-based park in 2018. Following the acquisition of DreamWorks Animation by NBCUniversal last year (c.f. EAP news from May 3rd, 2016), a new DreamWorks Theatre attraction – developed in cooperation with Universal Creative and DreamWorks’ Artists – is currently under construction at Universal Studios Hollywood, hosting a range of DreamWorks’ IP branches starting in 2018.

The first of them will be Kung Fu Panda, who will take visitors onto a journey fusing storytelling with state-of-the-art projection mapping and LED lighting effects. Also, Universal Studios Hollywood will welcome “Hello Kitty” from Japanese company Sanrio next year in the shape of exclusive merchandising items and for meet & greets with visitors. During this year’s season, visitors can already encounter DreamWorks’ characters such as “Shrek” and “The Penguins”.

Furthermore, the existing “Universal Cinema” at Universal CityWalk Hollywood has seen a renovation, now featuring screening room quality theaters, deluxe recliner seats, next-generation sight and sound achievements. Universal CityWalk also offers new gastronomic venues, such as “Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville”, “Voodoo Doughnut” for vegan sweet and savory treats and “Dongpo Kitchen” with authentic Sichuan cuisine.
