Valo Motion Launches “Astro Blade” – First Player vs. Player Game for ValoArena

Finnish company Valo Motion launches “Astro Blade”, a new game content for its “ValoArena“ mixed-reality attraction. At the same time, this is also a new experience genre for the multiplayer arena: the first player vs. player game among the variety of game titles that guests can experience (up to six persons at the same time). “Astro Blade” promises a battle experience in which players can compete with each other without any headsets, cables or controllers, and also without any physical contact. Instead, they become “console controllers“ themselves, so to speak, and perform in the game only with physical movements. On large screens, which are equipped with motion-detecting cameras, they can see their avatars in the virtual world. The screen characters are equipped with kind of “lightsabers”, reminiscent of various science fiction universes such as “Star Wars”. So players battle each other with those virtual lightsabers, controlling them with their physical movements.

“Valo Motion sees Astro Blade as an opportunity to connect with new audiences. Fighting game aficionados, sci-fi fans, and space enthusiasts will all find some fun in ValoArena,” said Raine Kajastila, CEO and founder of Valo Motion. “Astro Blade is the perfect expression of one of Valo Motion’s core goals: to use mixed-reality technology to get people on their feet, moving, and having fun.” (eap)
