(eap) The opening of the new Oceana water world at Sweden’s amusement park Liseberg is drawing closer. Yesterday, the first water was ceremoniously poured into the pools of the new facility. The entire water park covers around 13,600 square meters and will hold 1.2 million liters of water. Oceana is scheduled to officially open to visitors this summer. “It’s a technically advanced and unique project that we’ve been working on for a long time, so it’s an amazing feeling to finally see the water flowing in Oceana,” says Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg.

Oceana will feature a total of 14 water attractions, including four larger tube slides for two and six persons, such as Scandinavia’s first “Masterblaster” and the first six-person “Abyss” slide in Europe from Canadian manufacturer WhiterWater West. Furthermore, there will be a large water playground, a wave pool, a year-round open outdoor family river, and an adventure pool for children.

“With the pools now filling up in Oceana it feels ever more real that in a few months we’ll have guests swimming, playing, and riding the attractions, and the entire Liseberg destination will be complete,” states Thomas Sjöstrand, CEO of the Liseberg Anniversary Project. We reported on the opening of the “Grand Curiosa” hotel and Luna coaster which marked the 100th anniversary of Liseberg in EAP 4/2023. ■
