Zoo Zurich: More Visitors and Record Amount for Nature Conservation
(eap) Zoo Zurich looks back on a successful year 2025: With a total of 1.33 million guests, the past year ranks third among the most visited in the zoo’s history. Compared to 2024, this corresponds to an increase in attendance of around five percent. Among the visitors were also approximately 67,000 pupils who could use the zoo as an extracurricular place of learning as part of their school lessons.

Parallel to the positive visitor development, Zoo Zurich was able to achieve a new record sum for nature conservation. A total of around 2.7 million Swiss francs (equivalent to just under three million euros) was made available by the institution in the form of direct financial contributions as well as goods and services for eight international conservation projects.
According to the zoo, this new high is attributable to the support of guests, who frequently opt for the voluntary “Nature Conservation Franc” when purchasing their tickets. In addition, generous donations from private individuals and foundations also contributed to the financing of the conservation work. ■
