Zugspitzpark Ehrwald Opens New Forest Slides

(eap) Zugspitzpark in Ehrwald, Austria, which attracts visitors particularly during the warmer months of the year with picturesque hiking routes, challenging bike trails and further leisure activities such as archery, recently opened six new stainless steel slides with a total length of 170 metres. These lead from the mountain station of the Wettersteinbahn down through the forest to the valley station. Amid the treetops and mountain panorama, the route itself is intended to become an experience. The target groups are families with children and anyone wishing to experience hiking in a different way.

On the open “Cuckoo Slide”, which features two parallel lanes, two people can slide at the same time and therefore race against each other. Particularly rich in curves is the “Wood Pigeon” slide, which – unlike most of the other slides – has been designed as an open tube slide rather than a closed one.

The slides are approved for children from the age of six or from a height of 1.30 metres. Sliding on the mats is only permitted individually. Those wishing to take a break along the forest slide trail can visit a catering outlet located around a ten-minute walk away – alternatively, further offers await at the valley station.
