Germany: Dr. Johannes Kleinsorg Takes Over as Chairman of Berlin Bathing Operations

The Supervisory Board of Berliner Bäder-Betriebe (Engl.: “Berlin Bathing Operations”, BBB) recently appointed Dr. Johannes Kleinsorg as new Chairman of its Management Board effective from 1st September this year. The political economist and scientist, who succeeds in the position of former BBB Chairman Andreas Scholz-Fleischmann, previously worked as spokesman for the management of Stadtwerke Leipzig (Engl. “Municipal Utilities Leipzig”). Currently, Annette Siering is serving as interim-Chair of BBB, a company under public law.

“Dr. Kleinsorg has a wealth of experience in the management field with a proven track record, making him the ideal choice for our vacant position. The BBB corporation is of enormous importance for our city. We aim at making it even more efficient, more reliable and guest-friendly. These will be the major tasks of Dr. Kleinsorg for which I wish him great success,” comments Andreas Geisel, Chairman of the BBB Supervisory Board and Senator for Internal Affairs and Sports.

At the same time as taking over as Chairman of BBB, Dr. Kleinsorg will also take over the management of BBB Infrastruktur-Verwaltungs GmbH (the owner company of the related bathing operations) and will manage it together with Annette Siering. BBB’s portfolio includes around 60 indoor, outdoor and beach pools in the Berlin city area. (eap)
