Great Response for Gateway Ticketing‘s Online Seminar on “The New Guest Experience” after COVID-19

In dealing with the challenges of the global pandemic, leisure facilities around the world are receiving support and assistance from industry associations, manufacturers and operator colleagues. A well-working format for mutual exchange is the online seminar, in which interested parties can participate via (open or closed) online platforms. An online seminar on “The New Guest Experience”, which was hosted by Gateway Ticketing last Wednesday, was particularly well received by industry professionals with almost 400 participants.

Gateway’s Randy Josselyn and Matthew Hoenstine moderated the panel of professionals with Grant Rozich (Palace Entertainment), Jarrid Vaughn (Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden) and Brian Vauter (Natural Bridge Caverns), who provided insights into the current considerations and preparations their respective leisure facilities are making right now to adjust the end-to-end guest experience in anticipation of reopening.

In the focus of the online seminar was the complete guest experience from arriving at the destination and ticket purchases to the use of attractions up to the tightening of hygiene standards in gastronomic facilities and sanitary areas. Some recently reopened leisure facilities in China were used as best practice examples to show possible measures to prevent a new disease outbreak. In addition to a reduced capacity, exclusive online ticket sales and stricter hygiene standards, protective face masks are mandatory for visiting an attraction site in the country. Such strategies could also be taken into consideration in our hemisphere when it comes to reopening. However, their implication might differ from country to country. The wearing of face masks for example is part of everyday life in Asia and therefore finds greater acceptance among people than it is likely to be the case in Europe. Nevertheless, the exchange with industry colleagues helps to prepare for “day X”, when the gates of our amusement parks and visitor attractions will open again.

The full-length recording of the online seminar is available here. Tomorrow, Wednesday, Gateway Ticketing will host another round of industry professionals and discussions on the topic of “Reopening Strategies and Transitioning to a Capacity Managed Attraction”. (eap)
