Legoland Dubai: Merlin Entertainments Forges Strategic Partnership with Tatweer

Merlin Entertainments has announced the formation of a strategic alliance with Tatweer (subsidiary of Dubai Holdings) for the construction of “Legoland Dubailand”. On premises with a total surface space of 300,000 square metres, the themed park Legoland Dubailand will be built as part of Dubailand, the world’s most ambitious destination in the area of tourism, leisure and entertainment. The grand opening of the new Legoland is scheduled for late 2011. Much like the four other existing Legolands, the park in Dubai will have over 40 interactive rides, shows, and attractions for families with children between the ages of two and twelve. Many popular attractions such as the big castle in the themed area “Land of the Knights”, the rollercoaster “Fire Dragon” or the Legoland driving school are sure to thrill visitors in Dubai as well. According to information, the collaboration that has begun between the Merlin Entertainments Group and Tatweer also spans a range of other developments that are currently on the drawing board, such as the construction of a Legoland themed hotel and numerous other attractions from Merlin Entertainments’ portfolio.
