(eap) A new tourist attraction, “Falcon Fly”, recently opened on Mount Lovćen in Montenegro. The Wie-Flyer from German manufacturer Wiegand carries guests in ten TwinSeater gondolas along a route of around 600 meters, during which they pass through two circular sections.
Passengers control their speed using a joystick and can reach up to 30 km/h. Children are allowed to ride when accompanied from the age of four and a minimum height of 105 centimeters. During the ride, guests enjoy wide views of the landscape of Lovćen National Park. Installation work began in late 2025, with the official inauguration taking place last week.
Falcon Fly complements the tourism offering on the Lovćen mountain range, where Wiegand had already installed an Alpine Coaster in 2023. Its approximately 1.1-kilometer-long track runs partly through very steep terrain. Also in 2023, the Kotor Cable Car opened, transporting passengers from the Dub valley station to the Kuk mountain station at an elevation of 1,348 meters and thereby connecting the coastal region with the national park. The cable car journey takes around eleven minutes. The ten-passenger gondola lift was built by South Tyrolean company Leitner. In the future, an Aerobar from French manufacturer Aérophile is set to provide additional panoramic experiences at the mountain station. ■
