(eap) Gothenburg’s amusement park Liseberg has presented its new attraction for next summer: With “Stormvåg” (Eng.: Storm Surge), a Wild Swing XL from manufacturer Art Engineering will be introduced to the Swedish park in 2026. The ride’s gondola accommodates up to 24 passengers, who are lifted into the air while swinging. The new family attraction, featuring a maritime design (concept and design: Alex Korting Themed Entertainment Design and David Schofield, Creative Director Liseberg), will be integrated into an existing area that for many years was home to the “Kristallsalongen” mirror maze. It is part of a development plan for this area that has been in progress since 2013, under which additional refurbishment works are now being implemented, including new sanitary facilities and lockers. To ride (when accompanied), visitors must have a minimum height of 105 centimeters.

“Stormvåg is a bit reminiscent of the classic Topspin ride, but here the whole family can ride together. It’s got just the right amount of thrill to spark spontaneous laughter. It’s simply a ride that makes you really happy!” said Kenneth Berndtsson, Operations Manager at Liseberg. CEO Andreas Andersen regards Stormvåg as an important step in the further development and enhancement of the park’s appeal.

Another Wild Swing XL was recently announced by Belgian theme park Bellewaerde for the coming year. ■
