(eap) This month, Alpenpark Neuss (located near Düsseldorf) is celebrating its 25th anniversary: what began on January 4, 2001 as Germany’s first indoor ski hall has, over the past quarter of a century, developed into a year-round leisure resort. With immediate effect, Alpenpark Neuss is also adopting a new name and will now operate as SnowWorld Neuss.
Over the years, the ski hall founded by the two entrepreneurs August Pollen and Johannes Janz has grown beyond its core offering of a wide range of winter sports activities. Alpine-style gastronomy has been continuously expanded, both indoors and outdoors. With the 4-star superior hotel “Fire & Ice” as well as 22 tree chalets, an associated accommodation offering was created, and since spring 2025, “Murmels Abenteuer Alm” (“Murmel the Marmotʼs Alpine Adventure Meadow”) has also been attracting visitors. This versatile adventure playground was implemented as a major project in cooperation with Kinderland Parks (cf. EAP 4/2025).
In 2019, the SnowWorld Group acquired shares in Alpenpark Neuss and took over the site in full in March 2024. The renaming to SnowWorld Neuss is intended to make the affiliation with the group more visible externally. In addition, the aim is to make even greater use of synergies within the group, which, incidentally, only recently merged with the British indoor ski operator Snowcentres (cf. EAP News of November 14, 2025). In the coming years as well, SnowWorld Neuss is expected to continue to delight visitors with alpine leisure offerings and experiences, building on its now 25-year success story. ■
