Alton Towers Resort Announces New Spine-Tingling Dining Experience

(eap) The UK’s Alton Towers Resort, located near Alton in Staffordshire, has announced an all-new immersive experience for its “Scarefest 2026”: “Dine with the Dead”. For the first time, guests at the Merlin Entertainments-operated theme park will be able to take part in a spooky, interactive dining experience as part of the Halloween event.

At Dine with the Dead, guests are invited to a dinner party hosted by the sinister “Lord Vincent” and “Lady Lucinda Vile” as they celebrate 300 years of toxic matrimony. What begins as an elegant reception soon becomes something far more unsettling: Guests meet the mysterious Vile family and some of their most peculiar acquaintances. As the evening unfolds, twisted performances, eerie encounters and unexpected moments bring the story to life. Specially staged live entertainment takes place around the dinner table, with guests not merely watching the action but becoming part of the story themselves.

“Dine with the Dead will bring something completely different to the Scarefest 2026 line-up, immersing families in a spine-tingling story where they are not simply watching the spookiness unfold – they are right at the heart of it”, said Howard Ebison, Vice President of Alton Towers. The experience is available at an additional charge. Both matinee and evening performances are offered, including a cocktail party and three-course meal; evening performances also feature an afterparty. The experience is open to teenagers aged 14 and over when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

In addition to the dining experience, this year’s Scarefest will include, among other offerings, a VIP behind-the-scenes tour of the new “Final Exhibit” scare attraction as well as family-friendly activities as part of the “Spooky Days”. Scarefest will run from 26 September to 1 November 2026. ■
