(eap) Headquartered in Magdeburg, Germany, international gaming floor provider Pixel Games has joined forces with gaming brand Atari® and, as a first step within the framework of the partnership, has added three classic titles from the brand to its portfolio. Effective immediately, visitors can experience the well-known titles “PONG®”, “Dominos™” and “Missile Command®” on Pixel Games’ interactive play floor, which translates classic game mechanics into a physical experience format. Pixel Games presents PONG as a physical reaction game for two opponents on the play floor, Dominos as a tactical multiplayer experience, and Missile Command as a cooperative team game. The modular, sensor-based LED floor panels respond to movements, steps and touch in real time, thus creating a dynamic gameplay experience.
By expanding its games library, the company aims to provide new impulses for operators of leisure and entertainment venues. With the newly integrated brand in its portfolio, Pixel Games intends to provide globally established content designed to diversify the offer and encourage repeat visits.
“I grew up playing Atari, which makes this partnership especially meaningful to me. Atari is one of the most legendary brands in the history of video games and has shaped the industry like few others. Being able to bring these iconic titles into a physical, interactive experience together is something I’m personally very proud of – and it clearly demonstrates the potential of combining gaming heritage with modern technology”, explains Philipp Hacker, Pixel Games Managing Director. ■
