Austria: EWA President Markus Achleitner Appointed New State Councilor of Economy and Tourism in Upper Austria

Markus Achleitner (photo), President of the European Waterpark Association (EWA) and General Manager of OÖ. Thermenholding, was appointed new state councilor of economy and tourism for the Upper Austria region (G.: “Landesrat für Wirtschaft und Tourismus”) as successor of Michael Strugl.

In December this year, Achleitner will take over his first political office with responsibility for the departments of economy, research, energy, tourism, investments, regional development and sports in Austria’s economically strongest federal state. He will especially focus on the region’s further economic development and the expansion of touristic infrastructure. (eap)
