Ripley's Aquarium of Canada begrüßte seine zehnmillionsten Besucher.

Since its opening in October 2013, Ripley's Aquarium of Canada has been enthusing visitors from all over the world. Last week, the aquarium was able to welcome its ten millionth visitor.

Peter Doyle, General Manager of the aquarium, said: ”We always wanted to build an aquarium in downtown Toronto and the success of the Ripley's Aquarium has been phenomenal. One of our greatest achievements has been our involvement in the revitalization of the South Core, which has led to an incredible transformation of the tourism industry in Toronto.”

Johanne Bélanger, President and CEO of Tourism Toronto, stated: “The Aquarium is an important piece in the Toronto story we tell when attracting visitors to our city. Now with ten million visitors, it's abundantly clear that when the world experiences Toronto, Ripley's Aquarium of Canada is at the top of the list.”

Besides its own programs and education offerings, the aquarium holds several cooperations with local companies such as the CN Tower with which they offer a “Sea the Sky” program. Furthermore, the aquarium is part of the Toronto "CityPASS" program. (eap)
