Celebration of “20 Years of Horror – 10 Years of TRAUMATICA”

(eap) Under the slogan “20 Years of Horror – 10 Years of TRAUMATICA”, Germany’s Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort is celebrating a double anniversary around Halloween this year. What began in 2007 with the “Terenzi Horror Nights” continued in 2017 with a fundamentally new concept under the name “Horror Nights – Traumatica”. This year’s edition kicks off today with a preview, followed by the official premiere on 25 September. Until 7 November, visitors aged 16 and over can immerse themselves in the post-apocalyptic themed world.

To mark the anniversary, the programme comprises eight horror attractions, various shows and further immersive experiences. These include “Wakala’s Wonderland”, “Day 1”, “Tarot House – Last Descent” and “Dark Remains”. Selected rides such as “Pegasus – The YoungStar Coaster” and “Matterhorn-Blitz” will also be open. The programme is complemented by the “Traumatica Ice Show”.

“For two decades, our horror event has stood for extraordinary stories, impressive staging and intense experiences that continue to surprise our guests. With Traumatica, we have created a distinctive world that is constantly evolving. The double anniversary is a special milestone for us and, at the same time, the beginning of a new, terrifying chapter. I am particularly looking forward to celebrating this anniversary together with Marc Terenzi and to reopening the Vampires Club for the first two weekends,” explains Michael Mack, Managing Partner of Europa-Park and CEO of MACK One.

New this year is the “THE HOTEL” experience. Together with ghost hunters, participants enter an abandoned hotel that apparently does not want to let its guests leave. The full-contact experience is completed alone and is exclusively accessible to guests aged 18 and over. Another new feature is the earlier opening of the “Food Court”. From 6.00 pm, visitors can get in the mood for the evening before the rest of the event grounds and attractions open at 7.00 pm.

The Forbidden opens on Fridays and Saturdays from 11.00 pm to 3.00 am, combining music, drinks and show elements. To mark the anniversary, the Vampire’s Club will be open on Fridays and Saturdays during the first two Traumatica weekends. Both experiences are restricted to guests aged 18 and over. ■
