Chocoversum Hamburg Introduces New Ticketing System
(eap) The interactive chocolate experience world Chocoversum in Hamburg has switched its ticketing system and is now using an online shop solution from the German provider ToucanTix. With the change, Chocoversum aims to further improve the customer journey for visitors while also optimising backend processes.
One reason for the change was long loading times, according to Sandra von Bargen, Head of Ticketing & Controlling at Chocoversum. Around 80 per cent of individual guests at the Hamburg chocolate experience world, which welcomes around 220,000 visitors annually, book their tickets online – a strong reason to make the process as efficient as possible.
There is also an incentive to purchase online, as Chocoversum has already been using a dynamic pricing system since 2018 in order to distribute visitor time slots evenly. Visit times in high demand are offered at a higher ticket price than less popular off-peak times, meaning that guests can benefit from discounted ticket prices when booking online. The ability to calculate prices dynamically on the basis of demand was another requirement for the new ticketing system.
The chocolate museum in Hamburg’s Kontorhaus district offers visitors 90-minute guided tours through the experience world, whose first stop begins with the cocoa fruit and explains its journey through to the finished chocolate bar. In the in-house chocolate workshop, guests can also create their own chocolate bar using ingredients of their own choice. Regular events and activities, such as a cocoa ceremony and chocolate tastings, round off the visitor offering. ■
