Cologne / Germany: First New Attractions Opened at Odysseum Science Center

The Odysseum in Cologne, which was opened three years ago (cf. EAP 4/2009), welcomes about 200,000 visitors per year. For their fourth operating year the SMG Science Center Services Köln GmbH, operator of the German science center, has many expansions on their schedule to enhance the guests experience and to cater to children aged four and upwards in particular. This summer three new attractions have already been launched and opened to the visitors. A 100 square meter large water landscape in the “Kinderstadt” area gives children an understanding of the element of water. The “Ody-Express”, a kids train from SBF Visa, transports children on a 60 meter long track along the Plaza. The third highlight is the new “Autostadt”, a 200 square meter large indoor area featuring a driving school for children. The month of November will mark the construction start of the new so-called “Clever Labs” providing interactive shows with exciting experiments. (eap)
