(eap) Universal Studios Hollywood has announced some details about its coming “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” coaster, which is due to open in 2026. According to the park, the roller coaster will be equipped with new innovative technologies – including train vehicles that rotate 360 degrees. Just like in the popular film franchise, riders will feel like they are drifting around in cars at high speed. The ride, which is speculated to be an Intamin coaster, is being built in the upper lot of Universal Studios Hollywood. After visitors will pass through the waiting area in a red brick, garage-style structure, they will be able to take a seat in the coaster vehicles modelled after some of the most well-known cars featured in the films.

“As a premier entertainment theme park destination with a rich history in immersing guests in incredible rides based on today’s most inspiring movie, television and gaming properties, we are excited to introduce our very first, high-speed outdoor roller coaster,” says Scott Strobl, Executive Vice President & General Manager, Universal Studios Hollywood. “As Universal Studios Hollywood continues to evolve, the arrival of ‘Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift’ will be a powerful game changer that will infuse a new level of thrill into our already dynamic theme park, and we look forward to welcoming guests when it races onto the scene in 2026.” ■
