Efteling to Reopen Renewed Raveleijn Themed Area This December

(eap) The Dutch theme park Efteling will reopen its extensively renewed “Raveleijn” themed area on 1st December 2026. The park had already announced last summer that it would revamp the area, including the existing park show, and add an entirely new ride attraction. After further details about the new ride had subsequently been revealed – it is a prototype developed by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma – the reopening date has now also been confirmed. Efteling is investing a total of 20 million euros in the redevelopment of the themed area. In addition to the renewed park show and the “Ravenring” attraction, the project also includes the renovation of the area as well as expanded F&B and retail offerings.

Ten million euros alone are being invested in the renewed Raveleijn park show, which has once again been developed in collaboration with the French Puy du Fou theme park. Among other things, the show will feature a new storyline that continues the familiar story of the heroes of Raveleijn: Ten years after their victory over “Olaf Grafhart” and his mechanical monster “Draconicon”, the wedding of “Thomas” and “Samira” initially sets the scene. Until the celebrations are abruptly disrupted by a dark force and the battle for the city begins once again…

Efteling is investing a further five million euros in the renovation of the themed area. The sets are being extensively renewed, while the offering has been expanded with the “De Verslaeghen Draek” restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the new “In den Ravenkorf” souvenir shop. Here, guests will be able to discover a wide range of Raveleijn curiosities and souvenirs, from costumes and stationery to decorative items and toys. A further five million euros is being invested in the new Ravenring attraction. The thrill experience is being created just outside the city walls. On a horizontally rotating wheel, riders will be challenged to demonstrate their “flying skills” while discovering which of the five elements suits them best. ■
