(eap) The Polish theme park Energylandia in Zator has announced a new record-breaking roller coaster scheduled to open in spring 2027. Standing 62 metres tall and featuring a track length of 1,215 metres, the Wing Coaster from Swiss manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) is set to become the tallest and longest of its kind in Europe. The ride is expected to reach a top speed of 115 kilometres per hour.

On a Wing Coaster, passengers sit on either side of the track with their legs dangling freely in the air. Comparable, albeit smaller, installations include “Flug der Dämonen” at Heide Park Resort in Germany, “Fēnix” at Toverland in the Netherlands and “The Swarm” at Thorpe Park in the UK. All three coasters stand approximately 40 metres tall and have track lengths of less than one kilometre.

With Rokan, Energylandia aims to significantly surpass these dimensions. A ride on the new coaster is expected to last just over two minutes. Three trains are planned, each featuring eight rows of four seats, accommodating up to 32 passengers per train.

The new attraction will also feature elaborate dragon-themed design elements: Guests will be able to “fly” through the air on the back of a dragon. According to the visualisations released so far, the dragon motif will also be reflected in the design of the trains. The striking purple coaster track will provide an additional visual highlight.

Energylandia already operates 19 roller coasters. Rokan is set to join the line-up next year, becoming the centrepiece of the new “Volana” themed area. The park plans to reveal further details about the upcoming area gradually. ■
