Halloween at Heide Park: New Spooky Family Show and Horror Mazes

(eap) Germany’s Heide Park Resort launched its Halloween event last Sunday, coinciding with the start of the autumn school holidays in Lower Saxony. Until 31 October, the park is offering a scare entertainment programme catering to different target groups. Nine tonnes of pumpkins, seven tonnes of straw and 1,600 maize stalks, together with atmospherically illuminated themed areas, create a spooky autumn setting. On days with extended opening hours – 17, 24, 30 and 31 October 2026 – visitors will also be able to enjoy roller coaster rides in the dark.

In the “Zauberwald” (Enchanted Forst), young Halloween fans aged three to ten discover the world of magic alongside witches, magicians and wizards. A new addition to the family-friendly Halloween programme is the stage show “Die Legende von Black Water” (The Legend of Black Water), which combines spooky moments, humour, acrobatics and entertainment. The approx. 25-minute show tells the story of a legendary ghost ship, a hidden curse and a sinister captain. Rather than relying on sudden scares, the show focuses on engaging entertainment, shared experiences and magical Halloween moments for the whole family.
Three horror mazes await horror fans aged 16 and over. The outdoor horror maze “Parasomnis – Die Albtraum-Therapie”, familiar to visitors from 2025, features additional effects this season. Visitors encounter darkness, disorientation, unfamiliar smells and claustrophobic spaces. “Grand Hotel Morton” and “SubTerra – Das Erntebankett” also return. To experience the horror mazes, guests must book one of the limited timed-entry tickets online in advance. ■
