Europa-Park Expands Housing Offer for Employees

(eap) Germany’s Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort is further expanding its employee housing, thereby investing in attractive framework conditions for its staff. Following the recent symbolic ground-breaking ceremony for a new employee residence in Rust, another accommodation facility was officially opened yesterday in Ettenheimmünster, around 20 minutes from Rust by car.

Accommodation for up to 130 employees of Europa-Park Erlebnis-Resort has been created in a former nursing home in the Ettenheim district. The new accommodation is intended, among other things, to replace the previous Windreuter Hof site in Emmendingen. The Mack owner family invested a seven-figure sum in modernising the building, which is partly heritage-listed. For residents, the move means greater ease in everyday life: the travel time to work is set to be roughly halved. In addition, a bus connection is planned to take employees to Europa-Park and back three times a day.

“Europa-Park has become an international resort that today delights people from many countries and provides employees from 100 nations with a professional home. This growth fills us with great gratitude. But it also brings responsibility,” explains Frederik Mack, Director HR & Organisation at the resort. “Anyone starting a new role needs more than an employment contract. They need security, orientation and a place where they can settle in.”

Europa-Park now has housing for more than 1,500 employees in total. With construction starting on another residential complex directly next to the employee campus, which opened on the outskirts of Rust in 2020 and is only a few steps from Welcome Center 75, 90 additional residential units for around 230 residents are planned to be created. The new development will comprise two buildings with a residential area of 4,500 square metres and an underground car park, as well as an office room and apartments to be allocated by the municipality of Rust. Completion is scheduled for September 2027.

“As a family business, we take responsibility far beyond the workplace,” emphasises Roland Mack, owner of Europa-Park. “In recent years, we have invested a significant double-digit million-euro sum in accommodation, Welcome Center 75, the new employee canteen and much more for our employees. The new building is therefore also a clear commitment to the Rust site and the region.” ■
