(eap) Europa-Park closed the 2023 financial year with another visitor record of over six million guests and is now starting a very promising season right on time on Saturday. The opening date for the highly anticipated new roller coaster “Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac” has also been set: on April 26, the new energy-packed coaster – the first Stryker Coaster from Mack Rides – will open in the newly created Croatian themed area. “Four trains are already in test operation. And we will then have a total of seven trains on this truly unique track,” says Michael Mack, Managing Partner, who describes the 2:20-minute ride as “intense and thrilling”. Read all about the extraordinary new coaster in the May/June issue of EAP Magazine.

According to the plan, the newly built Alpine world in the Austrian themed area, which was damaged in a major fire last year, will also reopen from May 14. “Even though the former hall will have given way to an open Alpine setting,” promises Ann-Kathrin Mack, architect and designer and also a partner in the family-run company, “there will be a magical new world with twelve-metre-high rocks, via ferratas and a mountain hut in addition to the newly built ‘Alpenexpress Enzian’ family coaster and the ‘Tyrolean water ride’ with the ‘Yomi Adventure Trail’.” And gemstone fans will also get their money’s worth with a store modeled on the gemstone grotto... This year’s innovations also include the new Eurosat Coastiality offer, which will feature the new “Phantom of the Opera” VR film in spring (c.f. EAP-News of 14 March 2024).The Alpenexpress Enzian will also have a new Coastiality offer with “Fina & the Yomis”.

At today’s press conference, Europa-Park CEO Roland Mack and the entire owner family were particularly proud of the achievements of the entire management team and all of the company’s 5,000 employees. From Whitsun (May 19/20), Europa-Park will also be even easier to reach from Switzerland. There will then be a direct train connection from Basel to the Europa-Park stop in Ringsheim. ■
