France: A Special Kind of Zoo Experience – Zoo d'Amnéville Presents Extended Reality Attraction

The Zoo d'Amnéville, located in the Grand Est region of France, will offer its visitors a new fascinating experience as of June 30th. Up to 2,000 people at one time will be able to experience the new Extended Reality show in the zoo‘s own multi-purpose arena, which presents animals in their natural habitat. The hologram show will first take the audience on a journey into space before immersing them in three different habitats of the blue planet to experience tigers, polar bears, sharks, whales and other animals in their natural environment. To present the illusion as real as possible, a 300-square-metre holographic screen was installed as well as a 400-square-metre poly screen for projection mapping.

“We are proud to be able to implement this great project and unprecedented show with the Amnéville Zoo,“ says Birger Wunderlich, Managing Partner of blueBOX and Extended GmbH, which is responsible for the implementation of the project. “It is the perfect addition to a zoo visit to learn more about the lives of the animals. This unforgettable show allows us to make visitors aware of the fragility of the biosphere,“ explains Albane Pillaire, new director of the Amnéville Zoo. (eap)
