France: New “La Citadelle“ Theme Hotel Opens at Puy du Fou

In the style of a medieval knight’s castle, French Puy du Fou theme park – which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year – has recently opened “La Citadelle” as its fifth theme hotel already (c.f. EAP, 2/17). Upon entering the building, guests are directly immersed into the 13th century, surrounded by rustic lanterns, colorful church windows and frescoes on the masonry. In total, the new theme hotel counts 74 rooms with space for up to five persons each and 26 rooms sleeping three guests each. In this way, the park has extended its existing accommodation offer to a total of 2,000 beds. Further hotel facilities (Puy du Fou expects a total of nine hotels) are planned, the sixth theme hotel is scheduled to open its doors in 2020. (eap)
