Frontgrid Introduces New ParadropVR Pod Hybrid Hardware Solution

(eap) British simulator provider Frontgrid has introduced “ParadropVR Pod Hybrid”, a new and more cost-effective hardware version of its VR flying attraction. The system is primarily aimed at operators with limited space or budget. Compared with the existing ParadropVR Pod version, the Pod Hybrid uses fewer materials and features a more open design. According to the company, this makes the attraction appear less bulky and allows it to be integrated more easily into smaller FECs, arcades or tourist attractions.
The basic operating principle remains unchanged: guests control their virtual flight themselves, while the platform generates physical movement to create as realistic a flying experience as possible. Multiplayer and gamification functions also remain available.
For its content offering, the company continues to use a subscription content library that allows customers to choose from a variety of games. The game “ParadropVR Missions: Mountain Ops” has recently been added to the selection. In addition, Frontgrid develops individual content for customers on request.
“Pod Hybrid gives operators another way into the ParadropVR platform,” says Matt Wells, Chief Executive at Frontgrid. “We’ve simplified the hardware without compromising the high fidelity flying experience. It is more accessible, easier to integrate into different spaces and it still feels unmistakably ParadropVR.”
According to the company, its ParadropVR platform has already been installed in 18 countries. ■
